Ghana discusses teacher exchange programs with France – Education Minister

Minister of Education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum has met with France’s Minister of Education, Anne Genetet on a potential for teacher exchange programs to bring Ghanaian English teachers to France and French teachers to Ghana.

In a social media post sighted by GhanaEducation.org, the Education Minister said his conversation with Anne was also focused on expanding French language learning in Ghanaian schools and creating valuable opportunities for our students.

Additionally, the Minister in Charge of Education and Member of Parliament for Bosomtwe Constituency said he discussed support for professional development for Ghanaian French teachers.

“We also explored study visits to France for Ghanaian head teachers and support for the new Global Studies Academy to include language labs, further enhancing French language education,” Adutwum said in the post.

Ghana teacher exchange programs talks with France come after Yaw Adutwum joined President Akufo-Addo on his official visit to France where they were warmly received by President Emmanuel Macron and other esteemed French leaders.

Alongside a strong delegation of ministers, the Ghanaian officials engaged in exciting discussions to strengthen Ghana-France partnerships, especially in education.
