CHRAJ Clears Rev. Kusi Boateng of Conflict of Interest and Double Passport Allegations
News coming in indicates that Rev. Kusi Boateng has been cleared and declared innocent of all charges by the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ). The allegations related to the alleged conflict of interest and double passport accusations.
Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Member of Parliament for North Tongu, made vehement claims in January 2023 that the man of God and Secretary of the National Cathedral Board of Trustees had a double identity, among other allegations.
The Member of Parliament petitioned CHRAJ for an independent investigation into Reverend Kusi Boateng. The MP accused Rev. Kusi Boateng of conflict of interest, multiple identities, and alleged criminal conduct. These issues gained public attention, leading to a court case filed by Rev. Kusi Boateng.
CHRAJ Clears Rev. Kusi Boateng: The investigation by CHRAJ revealed the following:
It disclosed that Reverend Kusi Boateng holds only one passport, which was issued to him under the name Kwabena Adu Gyamfi. The commission further stated that it did not find any additional information to support the allegations that the man of God acquired another passport under the name Kusi-Boateng.
On matters relating to the GH¢2.6 million payment from the National Cathedral Secretariat to JNS Talent Centre Limited, CHRAJ indicated that its investigation showed the company, JNS Talent Centre Limited, which was alleged to be connected to Reverend Kusi Boateng, received the said amount. However, it added that the funds were not used by the company.

CHRAJ determined that while JNS Talent Centre Limited did not provide any services in return for the payment, the funds were not used for personal benefit. It further clarified that the man of God used his personal resources to pay for the work carried out on the National Cathedral.
The investigation revealed that the transfer of GH¢2.6 million was identified as a reimbursement for expenses Rev. Kusi Boateng incurred on behalf of the National Cathedral.

Ghanaians have raised questions and asked if this is not another way by which the Nana Addo-led government has managed to clear another person of any wrongdoing. Again, the masses are asking how come the Court threw out Kusi Boateng’s contempt suit against Ablakwa, but CHRAJ has cleared the same man.
