List of 10 expensive items stolen from Cecilia Dapaa’s house

As a follow-up story to thefts that reportedly took place between July and October 2022 at the residence of Cecilia Dapaa at Abelemkpe, a suburb of Accra, we share with readers the list of 10 expensive items stolen from the house.
Two house helps, Patience Botwe, 18, and Sarah Agyei, 30, have been accused of stealing millions of cedis and valuables from the residence of Sanitation Minister Cecilia Abena Dapaah and her husband, Daniel Osei Kuffour.
The Chronicle newspaper reported that the thefts took place between July and October 2022 at the couple’s residence in Abelempke, a suburb of Accra. The accused are alleged to have stolen US$1 million, €300,000, millions of Ghana cedis, as well as assorted clothes, handbags, perfumes, jewelry, Kente cloth, and men’s suits.
The case is currently being heard at an Accra Circuit Court, where the accused have pleaded not guilty. They are being held in police custody pending the outcome of the trial.
The theft has raised questions about the security of public officials in Ghana. It is also a reminder of the importance of keeping valuables in a safe place.

- Six sets of men’s suits valued at US $3,000

The case against five accused persons in the Sanitation Minister’s residence robbery has been adjourned to August 2, 2023.
The five accused persons are Patience Botwe, 18, Sarah Agyei, 30, Patience’s current boyfriend, Patience’s former boyfriend, and Patience’s father. They are all appearing before an Accra Circuit Court presided over by Susana Ekuful.
The accused persons have pleaded not guilty to the charges against them, which include conspiracy to commit crime, stealing, and dishonestly receiving stolen property.
The case was adjourned to August 2, 2023, to allow the prosecution to complete its investigations.
