Abena Yeboah, 2021 National Junior Speller Champion Scores 9 Ones In BECE
Abena Yeboah, 2021 National Junior Speller Champion Scores Nine (9) Ones (1s) In BECE; Receives MCE’s Academic Excellence Award From Hon. Tina Naa Ayeley Mensah.
Abena Yeboah Kyeremaa, the 2021 winner of the Junior Speller, has proven that she is truly a champion by scoring nine ones in the 2021 BECE. The final year student who was keen on emerging as the winner in the spelling bee competition ended up winning in the BECE as well.
As Junior Speller keeps reminding all stakeholders that the process builds a lasting learning lifestyle in the participants, Abena has shown that it is true. Whereas others are of the view that the programme is so demanding and may interfere with the child’s school work, Abena has proven otherwise.
With such an outstanding performance, her MP Hon. Tina Naa Ayeley Mensah who doubles as the deputy minister for health and the Municipal Chief Executive Officer, Hon. Patrick Kwesi Kumor, awarded her with a plague and a one thousand Ghana cedis cash during the 6th March parade this year.
This shows that allowing your wards to participate even in the final year students in the junior speller only improves their academic work and they become all-round champions for life.
The MC for the day concluded that, “she emerged the winner of the national Junior Speller competition. She did not allow this achievement to get into her head, but she worked harder to score all ones (1) in all her papers in 2021 BECE. Having overcome her initial shiners, she has come to epitomize hard work, perseverance, and the need to educate the girl child. She has indeed made her parents, school, teachers and the municipal proud, and has become an inspiration for others to work hard.”
