Ablakwa Saves Lives In His Constituency; More Spillage Ahead.

A greater trouble has arrived in Ghana. This is a serious issue caused by the Akosombo Dam Spillage. This has compel Honorable Samuel Okudzato Ablakwa to do what many people did not expect him to do. Honorable Okudzato Ablakwa saves lives at North Tongu following the Akosombo Spillage.

Honorable Okudzato Ablakwa is one of the best members of Parliament in Ghana. He is doing a very good job for his constituency in the Volta Region. Videos and pictures circulating on social media captured Honorable Okudzato Ablakwa walking in the flood with his team as they rescue lives and properties. This is a good leader that every constituency in Ghana wish to have.

We are still waiting on the Volta River Authority to announce their non-negotiable plans for full compensation of all victims of their unprecedented spillage from the Akosombo and Kpong dams.

I commend all my courageous constituents for the outstanding show of solidarity, compassion, and community spirit in helping each other survive this unprecedented disaster.

I wish to render special praise to the youth who volunteered night and day to rescue the vulnerable and salvage properties — you are true heroes.

During my tour, I distributed free life jackets, made relocation transportation arrangements, and established a fund with seed money of GHS30,000 to assist victims in need of further emergency support.

Together, we shall survive this and bounce back happier and stronger.God has got us.

This large-scale devastation of biblical proportion was totally avoidable if the VRA management had put in place the right safety precautions and adequate community engagement, particularly, as they were the only ones who knew the quantum of water to be discharged and the dire implications for life and property. That would have averted the unfolding catastrophe.

I sincerely hope we shall not be blamed when we begin series of legitimate actions to demand justice for VRA’s displaced victims and to end VRA’s continuous costly dereliction.We demand nothing but justice!.
