The regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party NPP in the Ashanti Region who is famously known as Chairman Wontumi sends words to the victims of Akosombo Dam Spillage in the Volta Region telling them to stop calling NPP and Nana Addo for help in situations of this nature.

According to Chairman Wontumi, the NPP’s Regional Chairman in Ashanti Region, the people of Volta Region do not give their vote to the New Patriotic Party NPP whenever it is time for the General elections in Ghana. Of course, everyone knows that, the stronghold for the National Democratic Congress NDC is the volta Region. On the other hand, the New Patriotic Party NPP has its stronghold in the Ashanti Region.

The words from Chairman Wontumi has been condemned by several people. It is perceived to be lack of Knowledge in politics and Governance on the part of Chairman Wontumi. In democratic congress, ones the majority elect a leader, the whole people elected that leader. In this case, it is not only NPP fans and supporters that elected Nana Addo to be our president,  but Ghanaians elected Nana Addo as their president. Hence, they have every right to call upon their president in times of emergency and in crisis.

Videos circulating on social media shows how terrible the people in some parts of the Volta Region are suffering as a result of flood caused by the Akosombo Dam spillage.
