The Achimota School beats PRESEC Legon to lift the 2025 Greater Accra Regional NSMQ. The contest, which spanned four rounds, saw Achimota School dominating the contest from round one. They, by virtue of this win, go into the national finals of the NSMQ as Greater Accra’s best school in the finals.
The finals were between Achimota School, Chemu SHS, St. Thomas Aquinas, Accra Academy, and PRESEC. It was described as a battle between two mixed schools and two boys schools. The rivalry between the schools at the annual National Maths and Science Quiz has always been a heated one. However, there has been intense rivalry between Achimota School and PRESEC in recent times; at the 2023 finals, it was won by PRESEC Legon.
However, ahead of the 2025 national championship, Achimota School has proven at the regional finals that they are not in the competition to just participate but to show class and beat the best schools that will converge for the finals. The 8-time champions of the coveted educational contest PRESEC Legon will be looking forward to making it to the finals in the national competition but will have to prove their readiness, having lost in the 2025 finals
