Useful Exam Success Tips for WASSCE Candidates

#1. Join an effective study group that added value to your preparation: With the examination just around the corner, learning all by yourself may not always help. It is time to balance that with productive study group discussions as well. Members of such groups often help each other to understand topics and things they have learned but have not been able to grasp for exam success.

#2. Teach others what you have learned, and you will not forget again.

Teach others what you have learned to help you test not only your understanding but also your ability to reproduce high-quality knowledge and answers if those topics and areas get examined by WAEC.

#3. Work on your handwriting; it goes a long way to impact your final score and grade

No matter how bad or good your handwriting is, it will contribute to your success or failure. Students with poor handwriting need to work on it. It may be too late to start learning a new handwriting; instead, write in such a way that the handwriting is readable and clear. This advice goes mainly to students whose handwriting is not the best. If an examiner cannot read your script, they cannot give you marks. Practice writing neatly and legibly.

#4. Read instructions and questions carefully at all times and understand them before answering.

Students who do well in the WASSCE read and carefully understand the questions and all instructions before answering questions. Many students, as a result of the lack of understanding of the questions, end up writing wrong answers. You may have heard that “understanding the question is part of the examination.” Yes, that is the case because the examiners set the questions and use key terms that students must understand. When you understand the question and its demands, you will surely provide accurate answers.

#5. Stay positive-minded and pray for God’s favour no matter how ready you are for the examination.

In your preparations and throughout the examination, say positive and confident things, but above all, keep prayer to your God. Believe in yourself and the hard work you are putting in before and during the examination. Always enter the examination hall with a positive mindset because half the battle is won by confidence and good preparation and the rest by faith and prayer.

With the simplified and full 2026 WASSCE timetable shared along with the five useful exam success tips for WASSCE candidates here, you have what it takes to do well. Go out there and shine in the WASSCE exam.
