AFCON Round of 16 Match Prediction for Equatorial Guinea vs Guinea and Egypt vs DR Congo
Today’s predictions are as follows:
Equatorial Guinea vs. Guinea
17 hours GMT on Sunday, January 28, 2024
This is a big game and will go to the wire since both teams have shown their worth so far; however, Equatorial Guinea is more likely to sneak into the last eight at the end. Equatorial Guinea will start as favours have topped their group A, made up of Ivory Coast and Nigeria. This encounter is expected to be a David and Goliath affair. A 3-1 scoreline in favour of Equatorial Guinea is possible given their goal-scoring ability.
Egypt vs. the Democratic Republic of the Congo
20 hours GMT on Sunday, January 28, 2024
This will be any game; however, Egypt is not likely to fall to the quality of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Egypt placed second in their group B after drawing all three games, just as the Democratic Republic of the Congo did. Both teams at the 2023 AFCON are without a win; however, Egypt have history in their favour as they have won the AFCON final seven times. Their experience will play out in this encounter. Unless the Democratic Republic of the Congo comes to the party to cause an upset, We expect fewer goals to be scored in this contest. A 2-1 final score in favour of Egypt is possible.
