After Studying Law For Six Years, This Lady Has Been Denied A Call To Bar

After Studying Law For Six Years, This Lady Has Been Denied A Call To Bar. The lady in question is Ama Governor. She is a Ghanaian social media activist. She is trending after the Ghana Bar Association denied her call to the bar. In other words, she has been denied the chance to become a lawyer in Ghana. The main reason why she was denied the call to the bar is that she identifies herself as a member of the LGBTQ+ society. Also, she has on countless occasions expressed support for the LGBTQ+ people in Ghana.

After six long years of studying for her LLM, Ama Governor failed to be called to the bar like all successful candidates because of her sexuality.

She reportedly wasn’t allowed to join the bar since it couldn’t be verified that she was an active lawyer. The Ghana Bar Association gave her the boot by denying her the chance to practice law in light of her numerous piercings and contentious online persona.

The decision to punish her was made as a result of a petition that was submitted against her by an unidentified party. One of the twitter influencers, Bongo Ideas, share a video of this lady discussing her sexual experience whatsoever on social media.

She has used social media to vent about her experience with her angry friends. They claimed that it was unfair for the GBA to prevent her from becoming a lawyer at the last minute after she had aced all of her tests.

Divergent opinions about how individuals interpret the issue have been shared on Twitter in abundance. While some support the GBA, others think Ama Governor should be let to practice law regardless of her sexual orientation. A measure that, if passed, will effectively outlaw and prosecute any LGBTQ+ plus activities in Ghana has been tabled in parliament.

  1. Aha please she was not reported for being a member of the LGBT community(Stop the propaganda). It was because of her behaviour in general and how she was diminishing the integrity of the Ghana Law School on YT. You wouldn’t have brought in the sexuality if she was straight, would you?
