Afua Asantewaa is set to embark on 117 hours sing-a-thon
Ghanaian young Journalist, Empowerment Advocate and Founder of Ghana Outstanding Women’s Awards (GOWA), Afua Asantewaa O.Aduonum is set to break Guinness World Records of longest singing marathon from 24th to 27th December 2023.
Afua Asantewaa is expected to sing for 117 hours non-stop in order to break the current record hold by Indian Sunil Waghmare, who sang for 105 hours from 3rd to 4th March 2012.
On the journey she is about to embark on, Afua Asantewaa Aduonum requires not to repeat songs she will sing and the duration for the perform songs will not exceed two minutes.

Afua Asantewaa Aduonum took to her Facebook page to announce her intention to break the current longest singing marathon later this year
“I am looking at doing 117 hours to break this record, and I am making this attempt by promoting and doing only Ghanaian songs from gospel, High life, Hip life, among others. The attempt is going to happen this December,” she said. ”
According to her, one of the reasons why she is embarking on such significant journey is to promote made in Ghana Songs.
Music lovers and supporters, especially Ghanaians, has encouraged her to make the homeland Ghana proud by achieving her goal of breaking world record in singing marathon.
Ghanaian reggae/dancehall superstar, Charles Nii Armah Mensah Popularly known as Shatta Wale has declared his support to the visionary Afua Asantewaa Aduonum who desires world records.
“I wish I will be there to support this lady. You can do it !!! Let’s goooo. I don’t know you from anywhere, but I want to support and boost your confidence and also let you know you are winning hands down,” he captioned
Afua Asantewaa record-breaking journey will start from December 24-27 later this year.
Ghanaians and music enthusiasts are praying for her to achieve her dreams whiles selling the good music of Ghana origin to the world.
