‘Akufo-Addo Hasn’t Made Up His Mind to Fight Corruption’ – President ‘Fired’ for Pretence
Sulemana Braimah, who is in charge of the Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA), says that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo hasn’t done what he said he would do to fight corruption.
He said straight out on “Ghana Montie,” a morning show on NEAT FM, that the President has been pretending to fight the canker.
“President Akufo-Addo hasn’t decided to fight corruption yet, but he knows what’s going on.” Is he not aware of all the things that are going on? Who has been brought to court? Charles Adu Boahen was fired, which is fine, but the President hasn’t decided to fight corruption, so people will keep doing it until they get caught. If you get caught, that’s fine, but if you don’t, “that’s where we are,” he said.
People think that corruption has become the most important issue in the government-run by Nana Addo, and many people are calling for some heads of Public Services to be fired.
Sulemana Braimah says that the Office of the Special Prosecutor, which was set up to stop people from taking money from the government, has failed.
“We were here when Martin Amidu quit that job. I don’t know what will happen with Kissi Agyebeng. If the people who set up that office aren’t willing to fight corruption, what is your job there as a Special Prosecutor?” he asked.
