All 2022 BECE candidates may have different questions to answer – WAEC

Ahead of the 2022 BECE for Junior High School final year students, WAEC is per information coming to Ghana Education News likely to introduce new changes into the upcoming 2022 Basic Education Examination Certificate scheduled for October 2022.

The changes are expected to lead to candidates answering different questions in the same examination hall. If WAEC goes ahead with the changes, serialized objective questions may be introduced for the 2022 examinations.

What it means is that candidates will have the same objective test questions but different numbering. For example, a candidate’s question 1 in English language may be question 32 of another candidate in the same exam hall.

This will lead to candidates, centres and districts having a different set of questions. It will prevent cheating as a candidate’s set of questions and the arrangement will be different from that of another student in the same examination hall.

However, the standards for each district’s and candidate’s questions will be the same.  Students may receive different questions, and no student will be able to seek assistance from a friend or other persons. This will also make it difficult for examination question leaking syndicates to operate.

According to WAEC, these modifications may help to prevent malpractice in examination centres, and also help to preserve the integrity of WAEC’s administered examinations.
