Another Minister Resigns From Akufo-Addo’s Government

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has once again accepted the resignation of another Minister from his government.
The Minister of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Ebenezer Kojo Kum, have tendered in his resignation on Friday, February 3.
President Akufo-Addo is said to have thanked him for his services to the government and to the country, wishing him well in his future endeavours.
Mr Kojo Kum, who also doubles as the Member of Parliament for Ahanta West Constituency, was indisposed the greater part of last year.
He recently held a thanksgiving service in his constituency for regaining his strength and health as he was reported dead at some point.
“The President has asked the Minister of Local Government, Decentralization and Rural Development, Hon. Dan Botwe, MP, to act as caretaker Minister at the Ministry of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs until a substantive replacement is made,” a statement issued by the Director of Communications at the Presidency, Eugene Arhin, said.
“The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has accepted the resignation from office, with immediate effect, of Hon. Ebenezer Kojo Kum, the Member of Parliament for Ahanta West, as Minister for Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs,” excerpts of the statement said.

However, the reasons Mr Kojo Kum’s resignation was not stated in the statement but he has not been of good health recently.
It would be recalled that Mr. Ebenezer Kojo Kum, who is Member of Parliament for Ahanta West, suffered a stroke in 2022.
“Kojo Kum suffered stroke but he is not dead…He is very well. About three weeks ago, he fell sick and was admitted to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital for two weeks until he got better and was discharged.
“Currently, he is home and getting better. As I speak to you, he can eat, talk and do everything as expected but he is still recovering,” the family’s lawyer, Joe Mensah stated to dispel rumours of his death.
Meanwhile, his resignation brings to three, the number of ministers who have resigned from the Akufo-Addo government in less than two months
