LETTER OF APPOINTMENT AS A TEACHER (PROBATION)
On behalf of the Education Committee and Management of …………. Schools, we are pleased to offer you an appointment as a teacher ………….. school on probation for three months
Your allowance while on probation shall be GH₵………….. which is not subject to SSNIT deductions. Your probation period ends on ……../………../………… after which your appointment would be confirmed.
After your probation period, your pay will be as follows

- The Head teacher shall be your immediate contact in any respect in the school.
- You shall communicate any information to the school board through the Head teacher.
- You are an automatic member of the school staff welfare.
- Prepare lesson notes to prove your weekly preparedness for each week’s lessons.
- Teach effectively in the class(es) assigned to you using teaching/learning materials
- Teach the subject(s) assigned you effectively.
- Be informed that, caning is strictly prohibited
- You shall monitor the progress of pupils by conducting evaluation exercise from time to time.
- Prepare an academic report on each pupil at the end of each term with the help of other subject teachers.
- Be punctual at work and always on time.
Ensure all duties are carried out in line with the school’s policy, which ensures that no pupil receives less favourable treatment on the grounds of race, sex, religion or disability.
The responsibilities of this position are not limited to those outlined above .Management in consultation with the Head teacher may from time to time assign you new roles and responsibilities. This as and when it occurs shall be communicated to you in the appropriate manner.
The normal day at work begins at 7:00 am and ends at 3:30 pm daily and you report directly to the head teacher.
If it is your intent to accept this appointment, sign and date this letter and return a copy to the Headmaster of ………..school
Please note that your appointment can be terminated due to unsatisfactory performance and conduct. Either party may terminate this contract by giving to the other party, three months notice or payment of one month’s salary in lieu of notice.
