Arise Ghana, Justice For Ghana Presents petition To Parliament
Pressure groups, Arise Ghana and Justice for Ghana, have presented a petition to Parliament to prevent the use of the pension fund to build the proposed national cathedral, but rather use the money to pay NABCO officers who have not been paid by the government.
After picketing at the cathedral site and in front of Parliament’s ceremonial gate, the leaders of the pressure groups presented a two-page petition to the leadership of the House.
The groups, among other things, noted that Ghanaians are suffering excruciating hardships and do not need the scarce state funds accrued from taxing them to be used in funding what they described as fanciful frivolities that the executive president is pursuing.
Mr. Selorm Dramani Djiramado presented the petition on behalf of the groups and it was received by the Minority Leader Hon. Haruna Iddrisu and the 2nd Deputy Majority Whip Hon. Habib Iddrisu. They both assured the group members that their concerns would be addressed by the Rt. Hon. Speaker Alban Bagbin and the leadership of the House.
Concerns From Ghanaians.
So they want to use Pension funds to build National Cathedral. Eiiiiii nti bibini beye den wo wiase.
Mr President we didn’t force u to make any promise to God ohhhhh. If u want to fulfill your promise to God please find your own way but not this unreasonable method u are using. In this hard season u still making this unreasonable decisions.
We are begging the MPS both NPP and NDC not to allow this to happen because the President doesn’t care about us.
Politicians always does what would benefit them. Our Sims have been blocked and they don’t care.
Is it not these same unemployed graduates that are on radio and television defending this project?
So am not surprised and I wouldn’t be surprised.
Tomorrow, Turn on your radio and television, and see the youth you are crying for defending this project.
You demolished a functional hospital in the name of rebuilding an ultramodern facility, however foundation mpo haven’t started. Patients are sleeping on floors at hospitals : why not thinking of expanding health facilities and building new ones close to villages and towns to improve accessibility?.
It’s very sad at this crucial moment of sufferings in our country, majority MPs are busy debating for the building of Cathedral. What an irony? Your gov’t is begging pensioners and Ghanaians at large to allow them suffocate only for them to build a Cathedral at the expense of Youth unemployment, high cost of living, no food for students in school and so on.
I can’t just imagine these batch of fools in Parliament supporting building cathedral. Cote D’Ivoire have cathedral but has civil war. How about that? I think the stupidity has fill the heart and mind of NPP in Parliament.
Common sense is a the problem here ooooo. Is the any scientific proof that shows Africa politicians can’t apply common sense and always play partisan politics? We must rise up and correct this mentality.
