Ashesi 1st Years: 2020 PRESECANS plus NSMQ Stars make up 7%

7% of Ashesi 1st years admitted into various programmes for the 2021 academic year are students from PRESEC, Legon. Among them are the two of the 2020 PRESEC NSMQ stars.

Isaac Gyamfi ’24 and Daniel Gakpetor ’24 are in Ashesi university now studying engineering.

The two former students of the Presbyterian Boys Senior High School (PRESEC) and winners of the 2020 edition of the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) become household names during the 2020 NSMQ.

They let the Accra-based Boys school to its sixth NSMQ trophy and triumph in 2020.

Isaac, who earned the nickname the “Black Panther” in his days at the Presbyterian Boys High School said his Ashesi education will prepare him for another lifelong goal: to inspire more young people in Ghana to become Engineers.

Ashesi 1st Years will have to work hard to meet the lofty standards of the PRESEC boys in their midst.
