There are unconfirmed news making rounds that, the BECE 2021 results will be released by the end of January 2022 or early February.
What is the 2021 BECE Results Release Date?
This assertion may not be entirely accurate since the BECE scripts are yet to be marked. However, it is possible the BECE 2021 results will be released by the end of February and the school placements as well before March 2022. Usually marking of scripts takes up to 14 days each year.
Information from a reliable source to Ghanaeducation.org shows that marking of scripts has not commenced.
According to an examiner of WAEC, Team leaders will be going for a marking briefing on Monday, 10th of January, 2022. This will be followed by coordination by Assistant examiners from 12th January 2022.
The marking of BECE scripts is generally referred to as Coordination.
What You Need To Know About BECE Script Marking Process
A. 3-day program is put together by the WAEC to educate potential Examiners who will be tasked to mark scripts of students across the 16 regions.
During the training, both new and old examiners get the opportunity to learn the rudiments of script marking so that they can do a good job.
The new Examiners are known as Gate Crashers. If they fail to attend the training, they will not be entrusted with scripts to mark.
The event provides novice and experienced examiners an opportunity to learn and update their making skills for efficiency.
B. But before the scripts are given out for marking, examiners’ certificates and qualifications in the area of study are evaluated and accessed.
C. For WAEC to convince itself that the script marking rudiments have been understood and will be strictly adhered to during marking and that Examiners have acquired the relevant skills, each examiner is issued with photocopies of some student’s scripts to be marked and corrected as a guide.
D. After the above process, scripts are issued out to examiners and documented.
Examiners count scripts and confirm the number in each envelope and the total issued to them.
Only on verification with the officials that they are permitted to go and mark the scripts while ensuring that they don’t lose any script.
E. Submission date or period is given and examiners commence marking of scripts.
The usual duration for the marking of these scripts is 2 weeks and sometimes, it is 1 to 4 days less.
F. Scripts marked are vetted by script supervisors to ensure every examiner abides by what was agreed upon.
G. Once the scripts are vetted, the examiner who marked them goes back to effect the required corrections.
H. If the supervisor is convinced the errors detected have been corrected, The score of each student is recorded by the examiners on the attendance sheets issued.
I. After the completion of marking, recording, and submission of scripts, results are loaded on the result portal after all necessary checks, administrative and quality assurance processes have been undertaken.
J. WAEC provides timelines and hints as to when the result wl be released.
Once the results are ready for release, WAEC would often with the help of stakeholders, star the release of result checkers to vendors for sale to candidates. The results are made public and candidates can now check their results as far as the BECE is concerned.
