BREAKING: Ronaldo is to LEAVE Man Utd by mutual agreement, with immediate effect
Cristiano Ronaldo has agreed to leave Manchester United, and he will do so right away.
Man Utd OFFICIAL statement:
The team thanks him for everything he did during his two stints at Old Trafford.
Ronaldo’s return to Man Utd in 2021/22 was a big surprise. But the star doesn’t get along with Erik ten Hag, who is his boss now. Pierce Morgan’s release of the player’s controversial interview ended his relationship with the team.
The 37-year-old’s two-part interview with Morgan on TalkTV last week was a bombshell, which is why the news came out now.
On Tuesday, Manchester United released a 67-word statement that said: “Cristiano Ronaldo has agreed to leave Manchester United, and he will do so right away.
“The club thanks him for all he did during his two stints at Old Trafford, where he scored 145 goals in 346 games, and wishes him and his family all the best for the future.”
“Everyone at Manchester United is still focused on keeping the team’s progress under Erik ten Hag going and working together to win on the field.”
It meant that the Red Devils looked into the possibility of getting out of Ronaldo’s contract seven months early without having to pay him any of the £16 million he would have made by June 2023.
United thought that Ronaldo’s criticism of the club’s US owners, manager Erik ten Hag, the club’s facilities, his teammates, and former Red Devils players like Wayne Rooney and Gary Neville broke the terms of his contract.
