Check Out The Results For The UG SRC Election Runoff. The Electoral Commission of the University of Ghana held a run-off election today. This was as a result of the inability of the aspirants for the respective portfolios of the SRC President, and SRC General Secretary, to meet the 50%+1 requirement. This election featured a tight contest between Boakye Martin Gyasi and Samuel Ackom in the SRC presidential race. The Vice Presidents for these two respective candidates were Lincoln Ohene and Ramzy Fuzeini.

The polls ended around 5:00 in the evening. Out of the 11, 722 registered voters, 0.9 percent representing 107 voters, abstained from voting. Boateng Martin Gyasi secured 6652 votes, which is approximate, 58.7% of the votes. Samuel Ackom got 4963 of the votes; 42.3% of the votes. This means that the SRC President Elect for the 2023 academic year is Boateng Martin Gyasi.
For the General Secretary Race, the contest was between Emmanuella Boakye Yiadom and Vida Mintah. Out of the 11, 722 voters, 185 abstained from the process. Emmanuella Boakye Yiadom secured 71.2% of the votes whiles Vida Mintah got 27.4% of the votes.
