Christian Atsu Found Alive

News coming in indicates that Ghanaian footballer, Christian Atsu, who was trapped inside rubble has been found alive. According to report, he is having some difficulties with his breathing.

Credible cross-checking has been done by Ghana Education News with The Mirror in the UK which confirmed that Christian Atsu has been found alive following reports that he was ‘trapped’ after an earthquake in Turkey.

The 31-year-old, who played for both Chelsea and Newcastle during his time in the Premier League, was caught up in the 7.7 magnitude earthquake which occurred on Monday.

Portuguese outlet A Bola have also reported that Atsu has now been rescued from the rubble and has been transported to the hospital after suffering injuries to his right foot and breathing difficulties.

However, it is also reported that he is safe as medical officials are currently working on him. It appears that he has some broken legs.

Before this good news, an earlier update revealed that four people Christian Atsu was with on the night of the disaster have been found alive as all efforts are being made to rescue the rest. According to renowned Ghanaian sports journalist, Saddick Adams.

“I’m told Christian Atsu was on the 9th floor of the collapsed building with 9 other players and 2 officials. 3 players and one official have been rescued. Officials of the club are at the site as search continues. Our brother will be out safe. Insha Allah. Trust ,” Saddick Adams posted

 

Earlier today, it was reported that the winger is among the thousands of people left under the rubble of Monday morning’s devastating earthquake in that country.
The 30-year-old, together with the director of his club, Taner Savut, are said to be the subject of a search by the search and rescue team.

Ghanaian Sports Journalist Shares Updates On Christian Atsu

Since the news broke, many social media users have taken to their timelines to say a prayer for the speed star.

According to the Mirror, the former Premier League player is among people who have been trapped under rubble in Turkey, following a massive 7.7 magnitude earthquake.

The report indicated that there are currently rescue operations underway to find Christian Atsu.

Atsu formerly played for Chelsea and Newcastle.

He currently plays for the Super Lig club Hataysport

According to a report by a Turkish journalist, Yağız Sabuncuoğlu, which was sighted by Ghanaeducation Sports, the Hatayspor player and his club director Taner Savut have been left under the rubble after the earthquake in Türkiye.

The report added that a search team has been dispatched to look for the two individuals who are currently missing.

The earthquake, the second-largest in the last century anywhere in the world, has already been reported to have claimed more than 1900 lives both in Turkey and neighbouring Syria, CNN reports.
