The tragic earthquake in Atsu
On February 6, 2023, a 7. 8 magnitude earthquake shook parts of Syria and Turkey. The city of Hatay, where Atsu currently resides and plays for the neighborhood team, Hatayspor, was one of the hardly-hit areas.
Atsu was one of many people whose homes collapsed as a result of the earthquake, trapping them beneath the debris.
