Death, 20 years jail etc for LGBTQ+ in Uganda: Africa’s hashers anti-LGBTQ+ law

The government of Uganda will soon pass an anti-LGBTQ+ which makes it probably Africa’s hashers anti-LGBTQ+ law.
The anti-LGBTQ+ laws and efforts in African countries have been described as too harsh and harsher laws than those that fight against corruption on the continent.
The punitive measures captured in Uganda’s soon-to-be-passed bill into law against LGBTQ+ are not different as it prescribes several years of imprisonment, huge fines, and even death for those found guilty.
The Parliament of Uganda’s punitive measures has made their way onto social media. In the summary of the country’s anti-homosexuality bill penalty summaries have been unanimously considered and passed the bill into law with a maximum penalty of death sentence and imprisonment for other offenses.
Per the law,
- A person convicted of aggravated homosexuality faces the death penalty.
- A person who is convicted of homosexuality shall serve 20 years imprisonment.
- A person convicted of promoting homosexuality shall serve a term of 20 years in prison.
- A person guilty of recruiting children into homosexuality will suffer 20 years of imprisonment.

African countries including Ghana are on the verge of passing similar bills into law with the aim of preserving the family and cultural values of the people. The US Vice President, Kamala D. Harris during her visit to Ghana this month called on Ghana to see matters of LGBTQ+ as human right issues
