Depressed university student dies after falling from ninth floor

A 24-year old youth has died after he fell from the ninth floor of a building. According to our sources, the young man died on the spot of the incident and this has sent shock waves across the community and the nation at large.
The deceased was later identified as Anurag Gupt, the son of an Indian private business employee in India.
His actions and death have been attributed to depression by the parents. His father disclosed that his son was undergoing treatment for depression.
The sad incident occurred in at the site of a high-rise apartment building in Lucknow’s Sushant Golf City area on Sunday.
Around 9.15 am, residents reported that Anurag Gupta, a had fallen the ninth floor. The cause of his death at the time the SOS report was made.
The deceased was identified as Anurag Gupta, a BSc Agriculture student who was suffering from depression for the past three months, the police said.
Additional DCP, South Zone, Vasanth Kumar, said Anurag lived with his parents and brother in flat number 902 of the tower.
His father, who works in the private sector, confirmed that Anurag was undergoing treatment for his mental health condition from specialists in Varanasi.
The sad incident reminds all of us of the danger of depression and the need to seek help.

A good support system for person suffering depression is key to ensuring such persons are protected, helped and given all the needed medical and emotional support.
