Disqualify Kennedy Agyapong From The Race – Lawyer Maurice Ampaw Tells NPP
Private legal practitioner, Lawyer Maurice Ampaw has reacted to Kennedy Agyapong’s words against President Akufo Addo and Vice President Bawumia on Saturday. Speaking on Oyerepa FM on Monday morning, Lawyer Maurice Ampaw made it clear that Kennedy Agyapong should be disqualified from the NPP flag bearer race.
According to him, Kennedy Agyapong’s words were a threat to the president and for that matter, the national security should take this matter up.
“The nation should disqualify Kennedy Agyapong. This is not a party issue is a national issue. Therefore we must treat it as such and make sure he doesn’t occupy the Presidential position” he said.

“The personalities of these Presidential aspirants should be checked well by Ghanaians and see how they are going to behave when they finally occupy the big seat of the nation.
“We have to look at the character of the person who wants to become the President…Kennedy Agyapong is not someone who should occupy the office of the President” he added
“In any serious country Kennedy Agyapong should have been called by the National security for his words against the President and his Vice ….How can you say this to the president?”…he questioned
In a widely circulated video Mr Agyapong, who is also the Assin Central Member of Parliament, was seen threatening the President Akufo Addo and Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia over attacks on his agents.

He was heard saying, “President Akufo-Addo, I will give you a showdown in this country, I swear to God. Vice President, I will give you a showdown for chasing my agent away. I swear to God. You will hear what will happen here. I swear to God, I will challenge President Akufo-Addo big time.”
A statement signed by the NPP General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong on Sunday, disclosed that Mr Agyapong will be summoned before the Disciplinary Committee to explain his threats. Four other individuals will also be summoned before the party’s disciplinary committee for misconduct.
