Two Teachers In The Same School Die on the Same

It is a dark day for the teaching fraternity. The news of the simultaneous passing of two beloved staff members—Francis Aguah (alias General) and Grace Stepheny (alias Obaamua)—has left the community in a state of total shock and mourning.
A picture of the two teachers was shared on the Informed Teachers’ Network platform on social media. It has since gained traction, and many educators ask, “Why?” Many are asking questions that have no answers.
The information Ghana Education has picked is that the teachers are staff memebers of Konogo Odumase M/A Basic School. Konogo Odumase M/A Basic School is located in Odumase, which is within the Asante Akim Central Municipal District of the Ashanti Region, Ghana.
A Double Blow to One Staff
The tragedy began when Francis Aguah, who had been battling an illness in the hospital, unfortunately passed away. Francis was a dedicated educator, known for his leadership and “General” persona among his peers.
However, the tragedy took a more devastating turn when the news reached the school. Grace Stepheny, a close friend and colleague of Francis, was so overcome with grief and shock upon hearing of his death that she suffered a sudden, massive heart attack. In a heartbreaking twist of fate, she could not be revived, and she joined her colleague in eternity just hours later.
The teachers, learners, and parents are finding it very difficult to come to terms with this sad reality.

A Community in Mourning
Losing one teacher is a heavy blow to any school, but losing two in a single day—under such emotionally charged circumstances—is unprecedented. Students and fellow teachers are struggling to come to terms with the “Painful Exit” of two pillars of their academic family.
Their deaths remind us of the deep emotional bonds formed within the teaching profession. Grace’s heart quite literally broke for her friend, marking a final, tragic testament to their friendship.
The Ghanaeducation.org team will keep you updated on related issues as we follow this sad developing story.
Rest in Perfect Peace, Francis Aguah (General) and Grace Stepheny (Obaamua). Your service to education will never be forgotten.
