Ecuador Beats Qatar 2-0 In 2022 World Cup Opener
In the first game of the FIFA World Cup 2022, Ecuador beat Qatar 2-0 thanks to a goal by Enner Valencia.
The game took place at the Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor on Sunday. The captain of Ecuador, who plays for Fenerbahce in the Super Lig, was in great shape and tormented the other team’s defense with ease.
After an early acrobatic goal was ruled out because the player was offside, Valencia scored on a penalty kick in the 16th minute and then with a header in the 31st minute.
In the second half, the South American country kept the lead and stopped Qatar from picking up speed. With the win, Ecuador moved to the top of Group A, which includes the Netherlands and Senegal.
