Ecuador Breaks A Long Standing FIFA World Cup History.
All too soon, the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar is here. The game between Qatar and Ecuador started at exactly 4 pm. Within the first 5 minutes of play, Ecuador scored their first goal in the tournament. However, after consulting with the Video Assistance Referee, the first goal was nullified.
At the end of the game, Ecuador secured their 3 points by scoring 2 goals in the first half. The long-standing record in the FIFA world cup has it that, since 1992, no-host Nation has lost its first match. Qatar was not able to keep this record as they were defeated by two goals to null.
Qatar is the first host nation in World Cup HISTORY to lose its opening match. Their performance was not encouraging. They began to play better in the second half. All their efforts to equalize the goals did not succeed. We hope to see a good performance in their second game.
