Education Minister To Meet GNAT, NAGRAT, And CCT Over Strike. The General Secretary of the Ghana National Association of Teachers, Thomas Musah, has announced that these 3 teacher union groups will be meeting the Minister of Education, Yaw Adutwum, today. According to him, the next decision of NAGRAT will depend on what transpires in the meeting today.
“Teachers are unhappy. Some progress have been made last Friday. Let us not destroy what has been. We will be at the meeting at 2 pm.”, he said on TV3’s New Day show.
These three Teacher Union Groups, GNAT, NAGRAT, and CCT declared this strike in protest of the appointment of Dr. Eric Nkansah as the Director General of the Ghana Education Service. According to the group, this is an unprecedented development in the Service. So they are calling on the government to make a change. Also, the groups have some other unresolved problems and negotiations with the government.
