While WAEC is getting ready for the 2022 WASSCE, 2021 WASSCE Invigilators are crying over unpaid allowance for the work done.
The West African Examination Council (WAEC) has released the 2022 examination timetable for school candidates who are preparing to write the WAEC administered examination.
However, all does not seem to be well, as 2021 WASSCE Invigilators took to our Facebook page to register their displeasure about WAEC’s failure to pay their 2021 invigilators allowance.
According to the invigilators, WAEC is yet to pay their invigilators’ allowances, and they are not happy about it.
“WAEC has not paid the invigilators’ 2021 allowances. They may face problems of not getting invigilators for this year’s exam” one of the worried invigilators said. Another said, “Tell them to pay those invigilators they employed last year”
The invigilators have been looking forward to their allowances for work done being paid yet, nearly six months after the examination, they are yet to get their financial rewards for the work they carried out.
Ghanaeducation.org can not independently verify if examiners who marked the WASSCE scripts have been paid either.

The temporal WAEC staff members of the examining body are calling on WAEC to be proactive and do what is necessary. Given the current economic condition and the continuous price hikes, the allowances that are yet to be paid to WAEC WASSCE invigilators are losing value, and the longer it delays, the worse for the beneficiaries. The 2021 WASSCE invigilators unpaid are hoping to hear from the council soon.

In a related development, the WAEC released timetable for school candidates shows that the examination will commence on 1st August with practical works and end on 27th September 2022. The released timetable is for only Ghanaian WASSCE students. The other four WAEC countries have different timetables for the examination.
