Abena Kyeremaa Yeboah, the 2021 winner of the Junior Speller Spelling Bee Competition organized by the Born Heroes Foundation, has paid a visit to her MP Hon. Tina Naa Ayeley Mensah. After winning such a highly competitive competition, her school, Holy Cross High School, could not keep this only to themselves; hence the need to visit their MP, who doubles as the deputy minister for health, to show her the enviable trophy and the amazing prizes Abena bagged home on that fateful Saturday. The MP for Weija Gbawe constituency warmly welcomed them and congratulated them on a great job done.
The Junior Speller Spelling Bee Competition is in two categories. The Minor division is for grade 1-4, and the Prime is for grade 5-9. Abena Yeboah was in the grade 5-9 division. In the final round, Abena boldly spelt ‘bibliotheca’. But to the shock and admiration of all Abena spelt, the championship word, ‘ pneumoencephalogram’ with a lot of confidence and smiles.

At least, it has given them proof that they are really doing something and that they will continue to keep up the good work. The school has given a full year scholarship to Miss Heavenly Abokuma Asafo-Adjei, who won the grade 1-4 competition after she has spelt ‘encapsulate’ and the championship word, ‘archaeologist’.
