Former Ghanaian Footballer, Robert Eshun Confirmed Dead

Former Ghana professional footballer, Robert Eshun has been announced dead in the UK. The ex-player’s unfortunate death was confirmed on Monday, October 23, 2023.

As  per reports, Robert Eshun passed on after he suffered a heart attack while driving to work on Monday morning.

Ebo Electric as he was passionately called by fans was brought into the world on 19 December 1974 and passed on at 48 years old in London.

Known for his deft footwork and wonderful skills, he burst onto the football scene when he signed for Asante Kotoko while still a student at T.I. Ahmadiyya Senior High School in Kumasi. His extraordinary ability quickly procured him a spot in the hearts of football fans in Ghana.

Eshun began his career with Asante Kotoko, scoring in the final of the 1990 FA Cup. He also played in Belgium for Turnhout, Tielen, Lommel and Dessel. He later played in Turkey for Gaziantepspor, and peaked it all in Malaysia for Sarawak FA.

He scored heaps of goals at Asante Kotoko with one of the vital one in the final of the 1990 FA Cup. He was an individual from Kotoko’s CAF African Cup Championship squad.

He had a tremendous effect at Asante Kotoko, scoring numerous goals for the club. One of his most critical minutes was his crucial objective in the final of the 1990 FA Cup.

He was likewise a valuable individual from Kotoko’s squad during the CAF African Cup Championship.

Eshun’s dazzling exhibitions didn’t go unrecognized by European clubs, who were enthusiastic about signing the young sensation after his outstanding presentation for Ghana during a U-21 AFCON qualifiers tournament in Egypt.

He eventually took the action to Europe, where he played for clubs in Belgium and Turkey, including Turnhout, Tielen, Lommel, and Dessel.

After his European adventure, Eshun moved to the Asian continent, where he ended his profession playing for the Malaysian side Sarawak.

Throughout his dynamic football profession, Eshun’s extraordinary dribbling skills frequently left rivals and fans the same in wonderment.
