Four (4) Things Students Didn’t Notice On The 2023 WASSCE Timetable

All final year students in various senior high schools in Ghana are currently preparing to write the 2023 WASSCE with the hopes of passing. The Timetable is officially out. However, there are some things on the timetable that most students failed to notice.
They include;
1. Three Core Subjects To Be Written In A Period Of 11 Days
According to the timetable, the first core subject will be the Social Studies Paper, which will be written on Monday, 28th August, 2023. Candidates will spend 3 hours on the essay type questions and spend 50 minutes on the objective test paper. The paper will begin at exactly 8:30 am.
The second core subject is English Language. This paper will be written on 7th September, 2023.
The third core subject is Mathematics which will be written on 14th September, 2023.
The last core subject is Integrated Science. This paper will be written on 18th September, 2023. It could be seen clearly that three core subjects will be written in a period of 11 Days
2. The 2023 BECE Will Be Written Before All WASSCE Written Papers.
For the past years, WASSCE is always written before the Basic Education Certificate Examinations. This year’s timetable from WAEC shows some changes in this norm.
This year’s BECE will be written before the 2023 WASSCE. There will some projects work for some WASSCE candidates when the WASSCE date is due. After this, BECE will commence. No “written” WASSCE paper will be written before the BECE. This means that the 2023 BECE will be written during the 2023 WASSCE period?
According to the 2023 BECE timetable, the first paper will be written on Monday, 7th August, 2023. and the last paper will be written on Friday 11th August, 2023.
The 2023 WASSCE, on the other hand will begin on Monday, 31st July, 2023. The exams will continue through to 29th September, 2023. This clearly shows that the 2023 BECE will be written during the 2023 WASSCE period.
For this reason, there will be a one week break for all WASSCE candidates during that period. There will only be one practical work on Monday, 7th August, 2023(Food and Nutrition Paper 3). Aside this paper, WASSCE candidates will resume their exams on Monday, 14th August, 2023
