GAFCONM admits first batch of BSc Nursing and BSc Midwifery students

The Ghana Armed Forces College of Nursing and Midwifery (GAFCONM) has organised schedule for its first-ever group of students for the Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Midwifery and Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Nursery.
The schedule ceremony at the school in 37, Accra, encountered seven hundred and thirty-four freshers enrolled for the 2024-2025 academic year, out of four thousand, seven hundred and six entreaty they had.
The school is associated to the University of Cape Coast, that I being looked forward to have control of the curriculum for teaching, tests and honours of certificates to qualify or pass students.
On the other side, GAFCONM also operate diploma scheme for Registered General Nursing and Registered Midwifery, which is associated to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
Prof. Johnson Nyarko Boampong, The Vice-Chancellor (VC) of UCC, in an address read in his name by Dr Atta Yeboah-Sarpong, UCC’s Director of Academic Affairs, said University of Cape Coast (UCC) would consider the students of the college’s as an vital aspect of its educational territory.
He spotted that “the collaboration emphasizes UCC’s dedication to sustaining increase in educational levels and warrants that students will be provided a balanced and worldwide ambitious education.”
The VC stated that through the collaboration, University of Cape Coast (UCC) would warrant high quality in teaching, investigations and expert training, providing students with the competency needed to glow in the healthcare sector.
Prof. Boampong explained the establishment of the two schemes as a courage measure and an advancing launch into ranging nursing and midwifery education with worldwide requirements.
Prof. Boampong motivated the Managers of the college to “take upper hand of the 37 Military Hospital, a tertiary healthcare facility, to progress and establish professional bachelor’s degree and even advanced programmes”.
The special guest of honour, Air Commodore Nana Adu-Gyamfi, in his address requested the students to be massive ambassadors of the school as its explorers in the Bachelor of Science schemes and not to open themselves to the irrelevant activities of the internet.
He said, you are the first group to commence the degree schemes.The College is a territory where you experience liberty, but that liberty is mostly associated with obligations.
Air Cdre Adu-Gyamfi requested the students to realise their rights and secure them, and also must ensure that they do not walk upon the rights, freedoms and privileges of others.
Major Bright Attah Addae, The acting Principal of GAFCONM, stated that, the College was dedicated to warrant that it gave the brilliant academic training and attitudes to the Freshers.
Major Bright Attah Addae requested the students to keep it in mind that they were received for their genuine dedication, togetherness and educational pledge, as they undertake on their changing and honouring pathway next at the college.
