GES and NADMO collaboration for clean-up exercise

As per the Ghana Education Service (GES) and the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), a Regional Clean-Up Exercise will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2025. This Regional Clean-Up Exercise aims to promote environmental responsibility among students.
One of the this Regional Clean-Up Exercise primary objective is to reduce the risk of flooding and mosquito breeding by cleaning up public spaces and clearing drains especially around school environments. This effort is expected to contribute to the well being of the nation, health, and student involvement.
Benefits to the Nation
1. It will reduced risk of flooding.
This Regional Clean-Up Exercise will reduce the risk of flooding by cleaning up public spaces and clearing drains as we know flood is a major concern during the rainy season.
2. It will improved environmental hygiene
This exercise will make the environment clean which is very important for a good health in the environment and prevent disease outbreak as well.
3. It help in community development
This clean-up exercise will foster community development through bringing together students, teachers, and the community to work and achieve one goal.
Benefits to Health
1. It will reduce the risk of Mosquito-Borne Diseases
Clearing bushy areas and clearing drains will helps reduce the risk of mosquito-borne diseases like malaria in the community.
2. It will reduced risk of water-borne diseases
Clearing drains will reduces the risk of water-borne diseases outbreak like cholera and typhoid.
3. It will Promote healthy living
The Regional Clean-Up Exercise will promotes healthy living by encouraging students practice good hygiene.

1. It will in the development of civic responsibility
By taking part in the clean-up exercise, students will develop civic responsibility and community service skills will help them personally.
2. It will promote teamwork among students, teachers, and the community to achieve a common goal.
3. It will enhancing environmental awareness among students, which will be crucial for promoting sustainable development.
