The Ghana Education Service has confirmed the reopening date for single-track schools for the second (2) semester for the 2024-2025 academic year. According to information available to the Ghana Education News Portal and the official academic calendar, students and teachers are to report to school as follows:
Form 1, Form 2, and Form 3 students will resume school on March 30, 2025, for the commencement of their second semester. The students will be in school until August 29, 2025. This will bring the academic year to an end for the students.
According to the GES, the academic calendar for Single Track Schools for the 2024/2025 academic year is as follows:
First Semester:
- Students began their studies on October 30, 2024.
- The semester ended on March 5, 2025, marking the beginning of a break.
- The break lasted from March 6, 2025, to March 29, 2025.
Second Semester:
- All students will resume on March 30, 2025.
- The semester will continue until August 29, 2025, which signals the end of the academic year.
Students and teachers are expected to report to school to commence the final part of the 2024/2025 academic year. Parents whose wards are in single-track schools must also take note of the announced date, prepare their children, and provide all essential school supplies, especially for boarding students.
The second semester is crucial, especially for students in Form 3, as they prepare for the final-year examinations to be administered by WAEC for WASSCE school candidates. Final-year students must also work hard, since they will be writing their final examinations in the second semester.
Effective learning and preparation must be part of their efforts, as they will be accounting for their three years of secondary education in the 2025 WASSCE for school candidates examination.
