GES pays National Standardized Tests for B2 and B4 fees
Your reliable Ghana Education News portal can confirm that the Ghana Education Service has paid for the fees for the 2022 National Standardized Test for B2 and B4 fees.
According to the letter sighted by this portal, the GES alerted all regional and district-level education officers of the said payment which covers the cost of the 2023 assessment year.
Portions of the letter read “…the Ghana Education Service is by this letter informing all Regional Directors that the payment for the 2022 National Standardized Test for Basic Two and Basic Four have been made to the Bank Accounts of the regions and Districts…”
The National Standardized Test is a test introduced by the Ministry of Education to help access the knowledge and skills competencies of learners in Literacy and Arithmetic each year. The test is conducted for only learners in Basic 2, 4, and 6.
According to the Ministry of Education, the test aims at the following.
- Assessing Academic Progress: The National Standardized Tests provide an effective tool to evaluate the academic progress of basic 2, 4, and 6 learners, enabling educators to identify strengths and weaknesses.
- Ensuring Quality Education: These tests help maintain educational standards by ensuring that students are receiving a high-quality education aligned with national curriculum guidelines.
- Promoting Accountability: The tests hold both students and schools accountable for their performance, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and driving educational excellence in Ghana.

The test helps to evaluate the understanding of the learners based on the new curriculum. This helps to identify the strength and weaknesses of learners which will inform the policy direction of the Ministry of Education and the Ghana Education Service.
I read that BS 8 has been added to the National Standardized Test. Please is this true?
