On January 17, 2024, a citizen vigilante caused the arrest of the driver of the school bus who was allegedly diverting school supplies.
A video of the act went viral, and the Ghana Education Service (GES), in a swift response, placed a restraining order on the driver and other individuals involved in the matter.
The compelled the Ghana Education Service to initiate an independent investigation into the matter while at the same time directing Rev. Akpebu to “step aside” for investigations; however, he was not interdicted.
Mr Sylvanus Awunyo-Dogbey, the storekeeper, and Mr Samuel Kwame Ampeh, the bus driver, each received a full interdiction. The latest information from the GES on the ignorance of Rev. Joy Kafui Akpebu has been questioned on its Facebook page since it did not provide further details as to which people were found guilty of the diversion of the cartons of tomatoes and what sanctions have been prescribed for them.
