GES To Recruit 24,000 Graduate Teachers Next Year
The Ghana Education Service (GES) is set to recruit 24,000 graduate teachers from various universities and Colleges of education in 2024. This is according to the chairman of EduWatch, Kofi Asare.
The Ghana Education Service recently opened the recruitment portal for graduates with diploma certificates. Following this, a lot of graduates who studied at various universities in Ghana believe that the portal will be opened for them to apply. However, things seem to be delaying.
Well, current information reveals that the Ghana Education Service will open the portal for the recruitment of graduates with degree certificates into the service in 2024. The delay is due to some streamlining being conducted by the Ghana Education Service. Some senior high schools in Ghana are overstaffed, while others seem to have a shortage of teachers. GES wants to ensure that there is no overstaffing in schools.

As a result, it is making sure that all senior high schools have the required number of teachers at a particular time. Once this is done, GES will know the number of teachers needed by each school in Ghana in order to begin the recruitment process.
Even though GES has the records already, they still need to conduct this exercise in some schools before recruitment can be done.
Also, the Minister of Finance must give financial approval to the Ghana Education Service before recruitment can be done. Ghanaeducation.org cannot confirm the exact time in which the portal will be opened for recruitment.
