GES To Recruit 24k Teachers This Year

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced plans to recruit 24k graduate teachers from various tertiary institutions this year, 2024.

This recruitment initiative aims to address staffing needs within the education sector and ensure that schools across Ghana have the necessary educators to deliver quality education to students.

The recruitment process is being conducted in phases, with the portal initially opening for graduates holding diploma certificates. However, the portal for graduates with degree certificates will open at a later date. This delay is attributed to ongoing streamlining efforts within the Ghana Education Service to optimize staffing levels in senior high schools.

GES has identified disparities in staffing across different schools, with some being overstaffed while others face shortages of teachers. To rectify this imbalance, GES is working to ensure that each school has the appropriate number of teachers to meet its educational objectives.

Before recruitment can commence, GES must conduct a thorough assessment of staffing needs in schools throughout Ghana. This involves determining the specific number of teachers required by each institution to adequately cater to the student population.

Additionally, financial approval from the Minister of Finance is necessary before recruitment can proceed. This step ensures that the recruitment process is properly funded and aligned with budgetary constraints.

For prospective applicants, it is essential to prepare all required certificates, including the Licence Examination Certificate, Degree Certificate, National Service Certificate, WASSCE Certificate, and BECE Certificate. These documents serve as prerequisites for consideration during the recruitment process.

1. Select RECRUITMENT( apply for recruitment as teaching staff) Then select “Click to start filling out the form”

2. Choose the Category of Employment

• Teaching
• Non-Teaching

3. Fill in your personal details such as

•  First name
• Last name
• Date of birth
• Place of birth
• The region of birth
• Nationality
• Marital status
• E-mail
• Phone number
• Residential address in full

4. You will be required to select 3 languages

4. You will also be required to select the course you wish to teach alongside with three regions.

How to Purchase Voucher Card

Applying for recruitment is not free. You need to buy a voucher.

• Visit the GES Promotion Portal
• Click on Buy eVoucher Card
• Fill in the appropriate details and confirm the payment on your mobile device
• Proceed to the Posting Login Page and enter your Index Number and the voucher code you received on your mobile device
• Finally, click on Submit to download your appointment letter.
