Ghana School Of Law Opens 2024/2025 Admissions Portal – Apply Here

The General Legal Council (GLC) has opened the admissions portal of the Post-Call Law Course at the Ghana School of Law for the 2024/2025 academic year.
Applicants who have the requisite certificates and transcripts as indicated in the criteria below at the time of application are eligible to apply. Short-listed applicants will undergo a screening process, the date of which will be communicated later.
DURATION
The Post-Call Law Course runs for one academic year, commencing in October 2024 and ending after the end-of-academic-year examinations in June/July 2025. Successful students will be enrolled on the Roll of Lawyers in Ghana.
ELIGIBILITY
The course is intended for:
- Citizens of Ghana qualified to practice law in common law jurisdictions with legal systems sufficiently analogous to that of Ghana.
- Non-citizens of Ghana may be considered for admission if they are qualified and licensed to practice law in countries with a system of law sufficiently analogous to that of Ghana and have a reciprocal arrangement with Ghana.
All applicants must have obtained their LPC/BL/BVC/BPTC final transcripts and practice certificates at the time of the application. The LLB subjects studied should include but are not limited to:
- Law of Contract
- Law of Torts
- Criminal Law
- Law of Immovable Property
- Equity and Succession
- Company Law
- Commercial Law
- Any of the following subjects: Natural Resources Law, Law of Taxation, Intellectual Property Law, Environmental Law, Labour Law
ADMISSIONS PROCESS
1. Applicants can purchase the PIN by following these steps:
- Visit any Consolidated Bank Ghana (CBG) branch to purchase the PIN for Five Hundred and Fifty Ghana Cedis (GH₵550.00) OR
- Use your mobile phone to purchase the PIN by dialing the USSD short code *887*9# on all networks. Follow the prompts to complete the payment and receive an SMS with the PIN/voucher details.
2. Applicants with PINs shall access the School’s application form online at (click here) and complete and submit the form with the following documents attached:
3. Certificate of Good Standing from the jurisdiction in which the applicant holds Barrister/Solicitor status.
4. Certified true copies of LLB certificate and final transcript.
5. Certified true copies of LPC/BL/BVC/BPTC certificate and transcript.
6. Academic reference from the institution where the LPC/BL/BVC/BPTC was awarded (emailed directly to this email).
7. Character reference from a lawyer of not less than 10 years’ standing at the Ghana Bar.
8. Certified true copies of other relevant academic certificates and transcripts.
9. Completed application, witness, declaration, and undertaking forms.
10. A recently taken passport-sized photograph.
11. Two photocopies of a valid national photo identity document (passport, voter’s ID, driver’s licence, or national identification card).
12. Admitted students will be required to produce a police clearance certificate from the country where they are qualified and licensed to practice law and from the Ghana Police Service.
Note: All scanned documents uploaded to the portal must be presented to the school during the screening process for verification. Only original certificates and ID documents will be returned to applicants.The decision of the General Legal Council regarding the list of admitted students shall be final.
