Hughton sees these games as a prime opportunity for the Black Stars to evaluate their readiness for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers beginning in November, featuring Ghana’s matches against Comoros and Madagascar.
These friendly games also play a pivotal role in the team’s groundwork for the Africa Cup of Nations early next year, where they are set to face Egypt, Cape Verde, and Mozambique.

“It’s a good test for us. Of course, they are not games against African opponents and on African pitches, but that is the balance we have. We are here for two games where the oppositions will be favourites because they are playing at home, and it will be a big test for us,” he expressed to the Ghana FA media at the team’s base in Charlotte.

The Black Stars will be based in Abidjan where they will play most of their games at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium.
