Ghana elected to UN Security Council
Ghana has been elected to the United Nation’s -UN Security Council for the term 2022-2023.
Foreign Affairs Minister’s reaction to Ghana elected to UN Security Council votes
In her initial reaction to the outcome, Foreign Affairs Minister Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey said: “Ghana will use its membership to pursue conflict prevention, post-conflict reconstruction and strengthening of governance, leveraging on our previous and current experience as Chair of ECOWAS as well as our active membership of AU”.

Ghana had the highest number of votes 185 out of the 190 ballots cast.
The required majority was 125.
