The Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) has provided teachers and public sector workers in general with new and reliable fresh updates on 15% COLA payment.
According to the Memo sent to members of the association, Thomas T. Musah, The General Secretary, the much-awaited COLA would be paid effective August 2022, and once the first payment is made, there will be five more payments. The memo further disclosed that the payment will end in December 2022.
However, the memo signed by the General Secretary was silent on whether the July arrears will be paid along with the COLA for August 2022. The memo was also silent on whether the COLA would be taxed or not.
GNAT gives fresh updates on the 15% COLA payment
The two messages sent are as follows.
“UNION ALERT! Comrades, you are hereby informed that COLA will be paid effective August 2022. Thomas T. Musah General Secretary-GNAT”
“Dear Comrades, Please after August COLA payment, we shall be left with five (5) months outstanding including JULY 2022. Thanks. Thomas T. Musah General Secretary-GNAT”
