Govt urged to review of College of Education admission quota system amid low student enrolment

The management of the SDA College of Education in the New Juaben North Municipality of the Eastern Region has called on the central government to review the admission quota system for Colleges of Education across the country.

Speaking at the 15th Congregation of the School, the Principal, Professor Vincent Adzahlie-Mensah, said the new system has significantly reduced the student population in the institution by more than 700, from 2,421 in 2021 to 1,715 in 2024.

The Principal, Professor Vincent Adzahlie-Mensah, also indicated that the low student enrolment as a result of the admission quota system has affected the school’s internal revenue mobilization.

How to apply for College of Education admission

Find below the easy steps for applying to the Colleges of Education portal. Supply your card information and ensure you keep the card safely for subsequent login.

1. Visit the College of Education portal

2. Enter username

3. Enter password

4. Click ‘Login’ to start applying.

5. Fill Application form and supply all required details, as well as attaching a passport picture.

6. An applicant’s passport picture should be in JPG or JPEG format and must not exceed 40KB in size.

7. Click ‘Preview’ button to do any of the following:
a. Click ‘Edit’ button to modify your application.
b. Click ‘Save and Continue later button’ to save your application form for the option of coming back at a later time to edit.
c. Click ‘Submit and Print Confirmation’ to complete your online application.
d. After clicking on ‘Submit and Print Confirmation’, click ‘Print Form’ button to print Confirmation Page.

8. Keep your printed Confirmation Page safe. You will require your Application Form Number
shown on the page to check your admission status and also print your admission letter.

9. Click on the ‘Close’ to go back to the login page.

10. Each Applicant is required to print two copies each of his/her confirmation page and attach his/her results slip(s) and any other documents deemed important and forward same by post to the College of Education applied to. Failure to do so, means application won’t be processed

11. Quote your Application Reference/Form Number on your envelop.
