Heartbroken and Disappointed: Kuami Eugene’s GHS400.00/Month Former House Help Shares Her Painful Story
Kuami Eugene’s house help, Mary, speaks after Kuami Eugene sacked her employer. The musician has sacked his house help and paid her GHC400 for her work.
Kuami Eugene, born Eugene Kwame Marfo on February 1, 1997, is a Ghanaian highlife and Afrobeat singer-songwriter. He is known for his hit songs “Angela,” “Wish Me Well,” “Ohemaa,” and “Adwenfi,” among others.
According to Mary, Kuami Eugene, the musician employed her three years ago and placed her on a monthly salary of GHS400.00.
She received this amount for a whole year, then her salary was increased by GHS100.00 to GHS500.00 a month. A year later, she got another GHS100.00 increase. In 2023, her income was GHS600.00 a month. She was responsible for running errands and doing the cooking, washing, and cleaning as well.
In an interview Mary granted after she was sacked, she stated that, instead of being paid GHS600.00, she was paid GHS400.00 when her appointment was terminated.
The general public has reacted to the bad treatment and the very disheartening income Kwame Eugene has been paying her ever-hardworking Mary.
