The well known trick is to put your phone inside a bowl of rice if it comes into contact with water, however this trick yields little results. Here is what to do when your phone falls into water.
The rice stunt which suggests that rice absorbs moisture is not truly adept at drying phones. Assuming you place your phone in rice, the phone’s crevices and nooks may not be reached and it could require days before the water totally dries out. Also, starch and rice dust might possibly get into the phone’s ports and cause more issues.

Remove the SIM card and microSD card if it has one.
Use a clean fabric or paper towel to dry the phone, tenderly touch around the creases and openings.
Try not to dry the phone in the sun. Keep it in a cool and dry spot.
Use a cotton swab to clean the charging ports and other open spots on the phone.
Instead of rice, use silica gel(it is mostly found in new products) packets, to dry the phone.
Fill a plastic bag with silica gel packets and cover the phone for 24-48 hours. After that, switch it on and charge it completely if necessary. If the phone doesn’t turn on right away, charge it completely and attempt once more.
Take it to a phone repairer or specialist if it still doesn’t turn on.
