In an effort to surpass the Guinness Book of Records for the longest cooking hours, Nigerian chef Hilda Bassey Effiong has started a cooking marathon.
The “Hilda Baci Cookathon” is Hilda’s quest, which she started on May 11, 2023, and is expected to end on May 15, 2023, on Monday.
Lata Tandon, an Indian chef, currently holds the record after working nonstop for 87 hours and 45 minutes in 2019.

1. Hilda is not allowed to sit down while she cooks.
2. She isn’t permitted to use caffeine, stimulants, or any type of energy drink to augment her physical stamina and energy while cooking.

4. She is only permitted a 5-minute break or rest every hour, which translates to a 12-hour break as a maximum of a single hour.
