How to Apply for GES 2022/23 Intra District Transfer

Ahead of the 2022/2023 academic year, the Ghana Education Service has open applications for the Inter-Regional and Inter/Intra District re-postings.

The GES in making this public disclosed that effective 11^th August 2022, it will start to issue Assurance Letters until 30^th September 2022.

In publication seeks to explain in simple steps How to Apply for GES 2022/23 Intra District Transfer if you are interested in being reposted.  

Step 1: Interested applicants are to write a letter to the district director indicating their interest. This letter must be submitted along with the data. Records

1. Current payslip
2. Personal record form
3. Certificate
4. Bank clearance 

The letter must state exactly what you indent to achieve. Eg. Desire to be considered and to move from the current school to another school within the district.

Step 2

The second step is at the discretion of the district director, who is required to do one of the following.

1. The district director may object to the request
2. Or accept the request and issue an approval letter to the applicant.

Now, where the interest is to move from one region to the other (reposting), the following steps will apply.

Step 1

The GES staff must request reposting in writing from one region to the other. This letter should pass through the municipal/metro directors of education

Step 2

At the discretion of the Regional director, he or she may object to the request.  If the request is approved, an assurance letter will be issued.

Step 3

1. After securing the assurance letter, the applicant then applies for reposting from his or her current district
2. The district director writes a covering letter after the applicant has completed an inter-regional form and attached all necessary documents (E.g. Current payslip, assurance letter, certificates, bank clearance etc.)
3. The district director forwards the applicant’s document to the regional education office for onward submission to the director general for final approval
4.  After the director general’s approval is given, the regional director issues a release letter to the applicant to complete the reposting process.
