The new GCB mobile app allows you to create an instant savings bank account. Let’s take a look at the steps in creating an instant bank account with your phone.

How To Create GCB Account With Your Phone

1. Download the GCB mobile application from playstore or apple store

2. Click on register (if you don’t have an account already)

3. Select “Open GCB Instant Account” from the menu that appears.

4. A menu will appear for you to fill in the following requirements;

• Phone Number
• Email
• National ID Number
• Title (Mr, Mrs, Miss, Dr)

5. If you wish to continue, you must accept the terms and conditions.

6. A notification will be sent to your mobile number showing a 6 digit verification code. Enter such code in the spaces provided on the app to continue.

7. The next stage has to do with selfie. Here, you will be asked to take a picture of yourself. The picture must be clear with no shadow. You are not allowed to put on hat or wear any shaded spectacles.

8. Once you are done, your detailed information will pop up from the next menu. Most of these information were obtained from details on your Ghana Card. Eg, date of birth and address.

9. You will receive a message from the bank congratulating you for the successful creation of your savings bank account.

10. In order to secure your account, you will be asked to create three security questions for your account. Some of the questions include;

• In what town or city was your first job
• What is the name of the secondary school you chose but didn’t attend
• What is the name of the company of your first job
• What is your father’s name , what is the name of your pet.
• What is your favorite colour

11. The next stage is password creation. You will be asked to create a password for your account. The password must be at least 7 characters with at least one number, one letter and one Special character such as @#$.

12. The last stage of the creation of your account is the four pin digit. This is similar to the password but it should only be numbers.

13. Once you are done, you will be asked to log into your account. You will only need your phone number and your password to log in.
